Changing the world. One mind at a time.

(TLDR) We turned the Swiss National Museum’s annual report into a modern storytelling ecosystem—print, digital, visuals, the works. And now it’s won an International Design Award. For a tiny, neurodiversity-led studio like ours, it’s a huge “yes, keep going” moment.

When we first partnered with the Swiss National Museum, we knew we weren’t just redesigning an annual report. We needed to rethink how a national cultural institution tells its story and how it speaks to people, how it connects, how it stays relevant in a world changing faster than museum walls were ever built to handle.

And today? Our work has been awarded an International Design Award at the 19th Annual IDA Competition, selected from entries spanning 70+ countries.

For a tiny, neurodiversity-led studio like twofold, operating out of a country with more cows than people… this kind of global recognition is a home run! For us, this means encouragement, validation, and a big warm “keep going”.

So what exactly did we do?
We reimagined the museum’s annual report from the ground up in 2023, then pushed it further in 2024, and once again in 2025 now. What changed?

  • A sharp, modern layout designed with clarity and actual readability in mind
  • Visual storytelling that adds colour, rhythm, and energy
  • A hybrid format: print and an immersive landing page
  • A newsletter concept that brings culture to inboxes
  • A cohesive design system with one foot in history and one in the contemporary world

The outcome: a report people want to engage with, not just something that fulfils a (often legal) requirement. A piece that elevates institutional communication into something alive, modern, and impactful.

Why this award matters to us
Yes, awards are lovely, but no, they’re not the reason we do what we do. But this one matters because:

  • It champions thoughtful, accessible communication design in a sector that needs it.
  • It validates our approach: clarity + creativity + purpose-driven craft.
  • It honours collaboration built on trust and curiosity.
  • And frankly, it gives our neurodivergent team members global recognition for the brilliance they bring to this work every day.

A few thank yous
To the Swiss National Museum: Thank you for letting us rethink a classic through a modern lens. To the IDA jury: Thank you for seeing the impact good communication design can have in the cultural world. And to our team: You poured heart, detail, patience, colour, system-thinking, and magic into this. This award is yours.
