A digital makeover for the Swiss National Museum Annual Report

The Idea

The Swiss National Museum came to us with a challenge: their annual report, while rich in history and insight, lacked the modern flair needed to engage a broader, more dynamic audience. They wanted a fresh design to bring their annual achievements to life and enhance their online presence. The goal? To transform the traditional annual report into an experience that reflected the museum’s rich cultural legacy while embracing modern design and accessibility. It was time for a complete makeover.

Designing the Digital Future

We began by redesigning the entire annual report from the ground up. Our focus was on creating a visual identity that balanced the museum’s traditional values with a forward-thinking approach. Only making a few tweaks? Not our stlye! We reimagined the entire report experience. The physical report was updated with fresh layouts, bold visuals, new graphics, and concise messaging. But we didn’t stop there: we adapted the design for an online platform, ensuring an engaging and seamless experience for readers.

With a clear alignment to the museum’s branding, we crafted a compelling digital landing page, not just to read the report online, more as a fully immersive experience, with interactive features that allowed stakeholders to dive deeper into the museum’s achievements, key statistics, and future projects. Every element was designed with accessibility and engagement in mind, ensuring the report both informed and captivated.

The Outcome

The Swiss National Museum’s new annual report was such a success that we’ve been working together on it for two consecutive years already. The modern design, paired with an intuitive user experience, set a new standard for future reports and communications. Stakeholders explored the museum’s accomplishments in a way that felt fresh, interactive, and aligned with its evolving digital strategy.By transforming the traditional into the digital, we helped the museum connect with a modern audience and tell its story in a way that felt as timeless as the collections it houses. The report became a true reflection of the museum’s commitment to innovation and accessibility in the digital age.
